The Salton Sea is a peculiar place. Much of it has been desolate since it fell out of favor, since its hey day. It was once a vacation destination for the rich and famous, and would go on to become an ecological disaster, a eutrophic lake, where fish can't survive.
These trails are a lot of fun for just about anyone who loves hiking.

Tucked away in Anaheim Hills is a small canyon, filled with oaks, wildflowers, and birds. Oak Canyon is a place you can get away from it all, on a short, manageable trail, beneath the oaks. There are trails ranging from under a mile, to a three mile loop here, for all levels.
I hiked to Holy Jim Falls once the trail had re-opened after the Holy Fire ravaged the area. The trail from Holy Jim to Santiago Peak is still closed. There is beautiful scenery all along the way. The trailhead is accessible down an unpaved Trabuco Creek road, subject to closure, due to flooding, from the adjoining Trabuco Creek,
