I hiked to Holy Jim Falls once the trail had re-opened after the Holy Fire ravaged the area. The trail from Holy Jim to Santiago Peak is still closed. There is beautiful scenery all along the way. Follow me on my journey exploring in Death valley National Park. My first stop will be Mesquite Flat San Dunes. As I approached the dunes driving down Highway 120, I could see off in the distance a very large dune, several hundred feet high, shaped like a pyramid, which seemed to be several miles from the road. I sort of had made up my mind, I had to get there, and have a closer look.
I would be hiking to Cucamonga Peak in the Angeles Forest. This is a scenic and beautiful 12 mile hike, with about 4000 feet of gain, past Icehouse Saddle. There is a creek running through Icehouse Canyon. There were lots of beautiful cascading waterfalls here.
I hiked up the South Fork Trail to Mount San Gorgonio. Come follow me on my backpacking journey in the wilderness, and learn what it takes to make it to the peak. It's one of the most beautiful trails in the San Bernardino National Forest. Find some peace and solitude here in the wilderness.
