I had hiked through Los Penasquitos Canyon once before, and was here for a second time. I was here a few years ago and this long, yet not so strenuous hike served as training for my solo thru hike backpacking the Trans Catalina Trail over 3 days.
I visited Sequoia Park in July of 2023, and travelled on several scenic trails, staying at Lodgepole Campground. The trailhead to Tokopah Falls begins at Lodgepole Campground in Sequoia National Park, just after crossing over the Kaweah River Bridge towards the rear of the campground.
It was late February 2023 when I visited Palm Canyon. It is located within a rocky gorge, within the Indian Canyons area of the 32,000 acre Agua Caliente Indian Reservation. It is just south of the city of Palm Springs, along South Palm Canyon Drive.

I would be hiking to Cucamonga Peak in the Angeles Forest. This is a scenic and beautiful 12 mile hike, with about 4000 feet of gain, past Icehouse Saddle. There is a creek running through Icehouse Canyon. There were lots of beautiful cascading waterfalls here.
