I would be hiking to Cucamonga Peak in the Angeles Forest. This is a scenic and beautiful 12 mile hike, with about 4000 feet of gain, past Icehouse Saddle. There is a creek running through Icehouse Canyon. There were lots of beautiful cascading waterfalls here.
Follow me as I explore the history and mystery of Santiago Oaks Regional Park, heading to Robbers Peak, the Old Dam, Barham ridge the riperian areas, and more.
Started off hiking up the Santiago Oaks Creek Trail, and through a series of many different trails, on up to the ridge. I took Oak Trail, Yucca, and then Bumblebee. I set out on a day hike in the alpine meadows of San Diego. I drove up the I-8 and toward the Big Laguna campground where I would begin the hike. Wildflowers were in bloom everywhere. There were hundreds of bright blue dragonflies everywhere too.
I hiked up the South Fork Trail to Mount San Gorgonio. Come follow me on my backpacking journey in the wilderness, and learn what it takes to make it to the peak. It's one of the most beautiful trails in the San Bernardino National Forest. Find some peace and solitude here in the wilderness.
