Tomato Sauce Making

8-11-22

I had begun harvesting tomatoes back in July. Now the fun was to begin, making sauce.

We had a huge harvest of tomatoes, and it was time to take the blanched tomatoes and process them into sauce.

I wanted to make a delicious tomato sauce.

I started off by roasting the tomatoes in the oven at 425 degrees.

I also blanched some of the tomatoes in boiling water.

Then I processed them in my newly purchased tomato press.

The process was going pretty smooth, and I was churning out a pretty nice sauce, which was kinda watery.

You can see the results here.

It started to thicken the more I turned the crank.

I kept tamping down the tomatoes, as I turned the crank.

This sauce was looking beautiful!

I added more in the over to give an oven roasted flavor.

I put the sauce in a ninja cooker to reduce awhile.

This tomato sauce was delicious!

You can add salt, pepper, garlic, and basil, or whatever you want to it. Olive oil will help it stick to your pasta and not be watery.

I hope you make your own fresh sauce with your tomato harvest this summer!

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and it is helpful in knowing what to expect, should you decide to visit here.
