Arch Rock Loop in Joshua Tree NP

I visited Joshua Tree National Park and stayed at Jumbo Rocks Campground.

Nearby was the popular 2.5 mile trail, Arch Rock Loop.

The trail takes you to an array of interesting large boulders.

There is also a famous Arch Rock, which are far less common in California, than in say Utah.

As you get closer, you become more intrigued.

The trail winds it’s way amongst the boulders.

Unlike some trails in the area, I found this one particularly easy to follow, even without a map.

There were rocks of all shapes and sizes, resembling all sorts of different things, which was up to your imagination.

This one in the middle looks like a wave to me.

This one on the left I will dub “the molar boulder.”

It took a bit of searching, but finally my daughter and I found what we came here for.

It was a beautiful sunset in the desert, as we headed back up the trail.

It was time to head back to the campground, but we enjoyed this one very much. It was short, and sweet, along with not being too far of a drive from Jumbo Rocks Campground.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and it is helpful in knowing what to expect, should you decide to visit here.
